Banji Peak located in the depths of the Bipenggou Ecotourism Area, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of SiChuan provence. The BC also is our shanghai sub-reception, at the road ended, 3570 meters above the sea level. 220 kilometers away from Chengdu, about 3 hour drive. In the whole journey, we need to set up two camps C1 and C2, the route will be BC—C1—C2, and the average gradient is about 45 degrees.
Bipenggou Ecotourism Area, which has a whole length of 45 kilometers and size of 180 square kilometers, attracts travelers by its beautiful natural scenery, favorable ecological environment, and marvelous peaks and stones. There are all kinds of red leaves, blooming azaleas, Flourishing forests, hanging waterfalls, standing glaciers, gurgling streams and springs, and a wide range of wildlife prosper in this fairyland.
Banji Peak belongs to higher lever glacier peaks, perfect for mountaineering training, skill learning and usual climbing activities.it is also a technical peak which one can experience alpine climbing. There are 4 routes to the summit, R1,R2,R3, and R4, with different difficulty levels, which one to choose will depends on the specific circumstances after we reach C2.
Banji Peak situated in a transition region from sub-tropical monsoon climate to plateau continental climate, due to the plateau terrain, it is cold in winter and cool in summer, low rainfall, dry all the year, its annual precipitation is about 1100-1600 millimeters and most rain falling in rainy season (May). It has a clear altitudinal structure, violent variation of temperature, indistinct four seasons, and large daily temperature difference which sometimes can be 20°C or even higher. Its annual evaporation is about 1500 millimeters with 220 frost-free days. The annual temperature is 12.2°C and sunlight is 2214 hours.
Banji Peak has a typical plateau climate, cool in the morning and evening, hot in the noon, the sky is always blue with white cloud in daytime, and starry in night, the air is fresh but due to the high elevation, some will feel different levels of mountain sickness.

D1: start at 9 o’clock in the morning, Chengdu—Dujiangyan—The epicenter —Yingxiu—Wenchuan– Taoping Qiang Village— Yubao Tibetan village—Li County—Putou-have lunch- Bipenggou-shanghai sub-reception (BC).Aaltitude of BC: 3570 meters
D2: Adapt to the environment of BC, communicate and be familiar with each other, learn and practice things such like the equipment use, knot and use the rope, walk on the ice, rise and down with a rope, pass the anchor, fallen braking, walk in group, and a variety of rescue systems. In the afternoon we will have a walk along the step road to Zhuoma Lake, and then return. The walking will be about 2 kilometers.
D3: BC——C1， altitude of C1:4400meters. When setting out, each team member will have a porter, (the ratio is one to one, and will be the same in return), and traveling light with a guide. Arrive C1 at about two o’clock in the afternoon, then have a break, then have another training to help team member further grasp climbing skills.
D4: C1——C2，altitude of C2:4890meters. Pick up camp after breakfast, set off for C2 with light packs of one’s technical equipment and food (need not carry camp, climbing rope or other shared supplies.) we will led by the high elevation guide. We will arrive C2 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. It is a perfect place for snowberg climbing training near C2. We will start training after C2 is established. The training is most about ice walking, group walking, fallen braking, rising and down with rope, and pass the anchor (belay station), then under the lead of high elevation guide, we will observe the climbing route, and get familiar with difficult and dangerous terrains to have plan in mind.
D5: C2—the summit—-C2—-C1, altitude of the summit:5430 meters.
When to set out will depend on the weather, if the weather cooperate, we will get up at 4 o’clock in the morning, check equipment, have breakfast, bring food, canteen, and set out in group with guide and assistant. Then we will emphasize the skill caution again, and make sure everybody is physically suitable for this day’s climbing, then is the summit climbing. The closing time for arriving is 2 o’clock in the afternoon, after arrive at the summit, we will return C2 along the same way. If physical condition is well, we will make a further descent to C1.
D6: C1——have lunch—- enjoy hot spring
Pick up camp after breakfast, return BC from C1, then lunch, have a rest, and there is hot spring in the evening, later there will be Khatags offering, and in the last is a celebration for the happy ending of our climbing.
D7: Drive to Chengdu for home.
